Gerhard Stadelmaier

Gerhard Stadelmaier, born in Stuttgart in 1950, studied German and history at the University of Tübingen. After working in the features section of the »Stuttgarter Zeitung«, he served from 1989 to 2015 as the editor responsible for theater and theater criticism at the »Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung«. From 2002 to 2008, he was professor of theater criticism at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts. His journalism received, among other honors, the Hildegard von Bingen Prize for Journalism and the German Language Prize. His publications include »Parkett, Reihe 6, Mitte. Meine Theatergeschichte« (2010), »Liebeserklärungen. Große Schauspieler, große Figuren« (2012), and the novel »Umbruch« (2016).
