Gerhard Fischer

Gerhard Fischer was born in Vienna in 1950 and studied mechanical engineering at the Vienna University of Technology. He worked in fields including energy technology and consulting, environmental protection, safety engineering and occupational health and safety. His later professional roles included chairing a works council in the insurance sector and serving as an official of the Vienna Chamber of Labour. His interests include contemporary history, genealogy, literature, painting, ballroom dancing and cycling.
