Georg Bayerle

Georg Bayerle is a journalist who began working for Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR) in 1999. His work focuses on mountains and the environment across radio, television and online media. He is known, among other things, for contributions to the programs “Rucksackradio” and “Bergauf Bergab.” An enthusiastic mountaineer and ski tourer, Bayerle also examines the ecological, social and cultural dimensions of the Alps and the ways in which people shape this environment. In 2018, he received the Bavarian State Medal for his contributions to environmental protection.
