Franziska Martinsen holds a doctorate in philosophy and a habilitation in political science. She has taught political theory and intellectual history as a Privatdozentin at Leibniz University Hannover and as a guest and substitute professor in Germany and abroad. She also served as Professor of Political Theory at the University of Duisburg-Essen and worked at the Institute of Political Science at Leibniz University Hannover. Earlier, she conducted research and taught at the universities of Basel and Fribourg. Her areas of research include political philosophy, intellectual history, theories of justice and violence, as well as feminist and gender theory. She is the author and editor of numerous publications.
