Franz Beckenbauer

Franz Beckenbauer (1945–?) was a German footballer, coach, and sports administrator. His greatest achievements were winning the 1974 World Cup as team captain and the 1990 World Cup as team manager. From 1965 to 1983, he played professionally for several clubs and was regarded as an outstanding international sportsman. After his playing career, he worked in sports administration, among other fields. He served as president of FC Bayern Munich, president of the organising committee for the 2006 FIFA World Cup, and as one of the German Football Association’s vice presidents from 1998 to 2010.
