Francis Kirps

Francis Kirps studied psychology in Strasbourg and worked, among other roles, as a school psychologist and primary school teacher. He began publishing in magazines and anthologies in the late 1990s; in 2000 and 2001 he came second in the Concours littéraire national. From 2003 onward, he performed as a poetry slammer. In 2005, together with Christian Bartel and Anselm Neft, he founded the literary magazine EXOT, where he worked as an editor until it ceased publication in 2015. His books include the short-prose collection “Planet Luxemburg” (2012), the novel “Die Klasse von 77 – Ein Punkrockroman” (2016), and “Die Mutationen – 7 Geschichten und ein Gedicht” (2019). The latter received the Prix Servais and the European Union Prize for Literature.
