Florian Langenscheidt

Florian Langenscheidt (born 1955 in Berlin) studied philosophy, journalism, literature and management, and earned a doctorate with a dissertation on advertising. From 1988 to 2001, he served on the executive board of DUDEN and Brockhaus; he also held senior positions in the Langenscheidt publishing group. He wrote several books on happiness and optimism, including “Langenscheidts Handbuch zum Glück” and “Wörterbuch des Optimisten”, and edited reference works such as the “Lexikon der deutschen Familienunternehmen”. Langenscheidt founded the children’s charity CHILDREN FOR A BETTER WORLD and received the Federal Cross of Merit and the German Founder Award for his social and entrepreneurial commitment.
