Fahimah Ulfat is a scholar of Islamic studies and religious education. Her academic positions included work at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Islamic Religious Education at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg and a professorship in Islamic Religious Education at the Centre for Islamic Theology at the University of Tübingen. Her first monograph, “Self-Positioning of Muslim Children to God,” was based on her doctoral dissertation at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. Her research has addressed, among other topics, Muslim children’s and young people’s concepts of belief and knowledge, as well as Islamic religious education.
