Eymard Toledo

Eymard Toledo was born in 1963 in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. At the age of 25, she travelled to Europe and studied product design at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin. She later worked as a freelance graphic designer, illustrator and artist. Her picture books include “Bené”, “Kayabu” and “Juju und Jojô”, which offer unusual perspectives on life in Brazil. Two of her early picture books received several awards. For her illustrations, Toledo created collages from materials such as wrapping paper, packaging and paper napkins.
