Eva-Maria Bast, born in 1978, is a journalist, publisher and author. She has published nonfiction, crime novels and historical novels, some of them co-written with Jörn Precht under the pseudonyms Charlotte Jacobi and Romy Herold. As Charlotte Jacobi, she co-wrote the SPIEGEL bestseller The Douglas Sisters, among other books. Bast has received several awards for her journalistic work, including the German Local Journalism Award from the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in the history category. Her books have been translated into numerous languages.
