Elisabeth Badinter

Elisabeth Badinter was a professor of philosophy at the École Polytechnique in Paris. Her academic fields included the Enlightenment and women’s history. She became known in particular for the books *The Myth of Motherhood* (*Mutterliebe. Geschichte eines Gefühls*) and *I Am You: On the Way to an Androgynous Society*, which were also bestsellers in Germany. Her other works include *The Conflict* and *Maria Theresa: The Power of a Woman*. Badinter is the mother of three children.
