Eduardo Halfon, born in Guatemala City in 1971, is a Guatemalan writer. He grew up in the United States from 1981 onward and later taught literature at Universidad Francisco Marroquín in Guatemala. He wrote novels and short stories, including *El boxeador polaco* (2008), *Mañana nunca lo hablamos* (2011), and *Duell* (2019). His books have been translated into several languages. In 2009, he received the Premio de Novela Corta José María Pereda for *La pirueta*, followed by a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2011 and the Prix Roger-Caillois in 2015.
