Eberhard Rathgeb

Eberhard Rathgeb was born in Buenos Aires in 1959 and moved to Germany with his family as a child. He worked as a feuilleton editor for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and its Berlin Sunday edition. His debut novel, Kein Paar wie wir (2013), received the aspekte Literature Prize. His subsequent novels include Das Paradiesghetto (2014), Cooper (2016), Karl oder Der letzte Kommunist (2018), and Unser Alter (2022). He also published nonfiction, including Am Anfang war Heimat (2016), Zwei Hälften des Lebens. Hegel und Hölderlin. Eine Freundschaft (2019), and Die Entdeckung des Selbst (2022).
