Ebba D. Drolshagen (born 1948 in Büdingen, Hesse) studied English and German, specializing in linguistics, in Frankfurt am Main and at the University of Chicago; she also studied in Oslo. From 1985 onward, she worked as a translator from English and Norwegian and as a nonfiction writer and publisher. She authored several nonfiction books, including “Gebrauchsanweisung für Norwegen” (2014), “Wie man sich allein auf See einen Zahn zieht” (2015), and “Zwei rechts, zwei links. Geschichten vom Stricken” (2017), a cultural history of knitting.
