Donna Leon

Donna Leon was born in New Jersey in 1942. She studied English language and literature in the United States and later in Siena and Perugia. Before beginning her writing career at around the age of fifty, she worked among other things as a tour guide in Rome, a copywriter in London, and a teacher and lecturer. She became widely known for her Brunetti novels, which are set in Venice.
