Donatella di Cesare

Donatella Di Cesare was born in Rome in 1956 and is an Italian philosopher. She studied philosophy in Rome, Tübingen, and Heidelberg. From 1996 to 2001, she held a Humboldt fellowship at Heidelberg University, where she was a student of the philosopher Hans-Georg Gadamer. Her academic career subsequently took her to the University of La Sapienza in Rome, where she served as a professor of theoretical philosophy; she also taught Jewish philosophy at the Italian Rabbinical College. Her works published in German include “Heidegger, die Juden, die Shoah” (2016) and “Von der politischen Berufung der Philosophie” (2020). Her books and essays have been translated into more than ten languages.
