Dominik Perler

Dominik Perler (born 1965) is a German philosopher. He studied philosophy and Russian studies in Freiburg, Göttingen, and Bern and received his doctorate from the University of Freiburg in 1991. After teaching in California, Göttingen, and Oxford, he was professor of philosophy at the University of Basel from 1996 to 2003. He subsequently held a chair in theoretical philosophy at Humboldt University of Berlin. In 2006, he received the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize; in 2007, he became a member of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities. Perler also served as president of the European Society for Early Modern Philosophy and the German Society for Philosophy. His publications include Zweifel und Gewissheit (2006), Transformationen der Gefühle (2011), and Eine Person sein (2020).
