Domenico Starnone

Domenico Starnone was born in Naples in 1943. He first worked as a teacher and later as a journalist for the Italian left-wing daily Il Manifesto. He also wrote screenplays and taught at Alessandro Baricco’s writing school in Turin. His novel Via Gemito won the Premio Strega, Italy’s most prestigious literary prize.
