Dimiter Inkiow

Dimiter Inkiow (1932–2006) was a Bulgarian author. He initially studied mining engineering and later studied theatre in Sofia, where he received a directing diploma in 1958. Inkiow first wrote plays and emigrated to Germany as a dissident in 1965. There he began writing in German and became known primarily as an author of children’s books. Among his best-known works is the series “Me and My Sister Klara.” He also adapted and retold classical stories for children, including Greek myths in “When Zeus Lost His Temper.” His more than 100 books were translated into numerous languages.
