Diane Oliver (1943–1966) was an American writer from Charlotte, North Carolina. She studied at the Women’s College, later the University of North Carolina, where she served as editor-in-chief of the student newspaper. She later attended the Writers’ Workshop at the University of Iowa. Four of her short stories were published during her lifetime, including “Neighbors,” which received the O. Henry Award. She was awarded her master’s degree posthumously, a few days after her death in a motorcycle accident in 1966.
