Deepak Chopra, born in 1946 in New Delhi, India, was an Indian-American physician and author. He studied medicine at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, moved to the United States in 1970, and worked there as an internist and endocrinologist. In the 1980s, he turned to Ayurveda and holistic medicine. In more than 90 books, he combined Eastern wisdom traditions with Western science. His best-known works include *The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success* and *The Seven Spiritual Laws of Yoga*. According to publisher information, his books have been translated into 43 languages and sold more than 20 million copies worldwide.
