Deborah Levy, born in South Africa in 1959, is a British novelist, playwright and poet. She moved to the United Kingdom with her family at the age of nine. After studying at Dartington College of Arts until 1981, she began writing plays and later directed the Manact Theatre Company in Cardiff. Levy has written novels, short stories, plays, and contributions for radio and television. Her novels “Swimming Home”, “Hot Milk” and “The Man Who Saw Everything” were nominated for the Booker Prize. She received the Prix Femina Étranger for her three-part autobiographical project.
