David Kertzer

David I. Kertzer is an American historian and social scientist. He taught social sciences, anthropology, and Italian studies at Brown University in the United States. He received Italy’s Marraro Prize for historical studies three times. His book on Pope Pius XI and Fascism won the Pulitzer Prize in 2015 and was published in German under the title “Der erste Stellvertreter”; it has been translated into ten languages.
