D. Eric Maikranz was born in Evansville, Indiana, in 1967. He studied Russian literature at the University of Colorado and worked in various professions before writing for the Denver Post. He spent two years working as a tour guide in Rome, where he also wrote two travel guides. His debut novel, Infinite, became a successful independent title and was adapted into a film starring Mark Wahlberg.
