Cordula Scheel, born in 1935 in Mecklenburg near Lübeck, is a German author. Her childhood and youth were shaped by the years of war and its aftermath; in 1945, she arrived in Schleswig-Holstein as a refugee with her parents and two brothers. After completing secondary school in 1954, she studied law and languages in Hamburg, Tübingen, and abroad. She published poetry, including the collections “Denn ich wage das Wort,” “Öffnung,” “Gezeichnet,” “Wegsteine,” “Am Rande der Lichtung,” and “Und fügst eine Stunde hinzu.”
