Claudia Schumacher

Claudia Schumacher was born in Tübingen in 1986 and grew up near Stuttgart. She studied in Berlin and lived in Zurich for several years, where she worked as a journalist, including for NZZ am Sonntag and DIE ZEIT. Her debut novel, »Liebe ist gewaltig«, was nominated for the Aspekte Literature Prize and the Harbour Front Literature Festival’s Newcomer Prize. In 2022, it was named “Book of the Year” as part of the Hamburg Literary Awards, and in 2023 Schumacher received the Literature Grant of the State of Baden-Württemberg for the novel.
