Christopher Ecker was born in Saarbrücken in 1967 and studied German and philosophy in Saarbrücken and Kiel. His novels include Madonna (2007), Fahlmann (2012), Die letzte Kränkung (2014), Der Bahnhof von Plön (2016), and Herr Oluf in Hunsum (2021). He has also published collections of stories and poetry, including Der Hafen von Herakleion (2006), Andere Häfen (2017), die montage der dienstage (2010), and »schach« dem vollmond (2018). His literary work has received several awards, including the Friedrich Hebbel Prize (2015), the Saarland Art Prize (2018), and the Kay Hoff Prize (2022).
