Christoph Butterwegge

Christoph Butterwegge, born in 1951, is a political scientist and poverty researcher. From 1998 to 2016, he taught political science at the University of Cologne, ultimately as a professor. In numerous books, he addressed poverty, social and political inequality, far-right extremism, racism, migration, and integration. In 2017, he was the Left Party’s candidate for the office of Federal President of Germany.
