Christine Hubka

Christine Hubka studied Protestant theology and initially worked as a religious education teacher. After completing her vicariate, she became a pastor in Traiskirchen, where she founded the Protestant Refugee Service. She later worked, among other roles, as an inspector for Protestant religious education, head of a church education office, and pastor in Vienna. She also taught at the Pedagogical Academy and the University of Vienna. After retiring, she worked as a prison chaplain. Hubka wrote religious children’s books and educational materials, including “Jesus – ein Kind wie Lisa und Benjamin” and “Der Christbaum ist im Paradies gewachsen.” She received the Bruno Kreisky Human Rights Award for her commitment.
