Christine Haug

Christine Haug, who holds a doctorate in the humanities, was appointed professor of book studies at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich in 2006. In 2018, she founded the university’s Centre for Book Studies: Book Research – Publishing – Digital Media and became its spokesperson. Her research has focused on the history of books and publishing from the eighteenth to the twentieth century, as well as the production and distribution of popular media, particularly the book trade’s secondary markets. Her publications include, as an editor, “300 Jahre Robinson Crusoe. Ein Weltbestseller und seine Rezeptionsgeschichte” (2022) and a volume on German-language pulp fiction in the yearbook “Kodex” (2021/22).
