Christina von Braun (born 1944 in Rome) is a German cultural theorist, author, and filmmaker. She was a professor of cultural studies at Humboldt University of Berlin, where she also headed the Gender Studies program. She was a founding director of the Selma Stern Center for Jewish Studies Berlin-Brandenburg. Von Braun made more than 50 documentary films and published numerous books and essays on intellectual, cultural, social, and gender history. In 2013, she received the Sigmund Freud Culture Prize. Her books include The Price of Money: A Cultural History, Versuch über den Schwindel, Blutsbande: Verwandtschaft als Kulturgeschichte, and Stille Post: Eine andere Familiengeschichte.
