Christian Saehrendt (born 1968 in Kassel) is a historian and art historian. He received his doctorate from Heidelberg University in 2002 and subsequently worked as a freelance historian and art historian. His scholarly subjects include political monuments in the Weimar Republic and in state socialism, international cultural relations, the history of documenta, and the artists’ group Die Brücke. He has also published popular works on modern and contemporary art, including Gefühlige Zeiten. Die zwanghafte Sehnsucht nach dem Echten and, co-written with Steen T. Kittl, Das kann ich auch!, Das sagt mir was!, Geier am Grabe van Goghs, and Du hast die Haare schön!
