Christian Ring

Christian Ring (born 1976) studied art history and philosophy at the universities of Kassel and Bonn. He subsequently worked as a research associate at the Hamburger Kunsthalle and the Museum Giersch in Frankfurt am Main. In 2009, he received his doctorate with a dissertation on the art historian Gustav Pauli and the Hamburger Kunsthalle. He began working for the Nolde Foundation in 2011 as deputy director and became director of the Seebüll Ada and Emil Nolde Foundation in September 2013. His publications include books on Emil Nolde’s religious paintings, graphic work, and later artistic period, as well as several illustrated volumes.
