Chris Wickham

Chris Wickham, born in 1950, is a British medieval historian. He held the Chichele Professorship of Medieval History and was a Fellow of All Souls College, Oxford. From 1997 to 2005, he taught and conducted research as Professor of Early Medieval History at the University of Birmingham. His awards include the Wolfson History Prize (2005), the Deutscher Memorial Prize (2006), and the James Henry Breasted Prize from the American Historical Association (2007).
