Celia L. Grace

Celia L. Grace is one of the pseudonyms of the British historian and writer Paul Doherty, who was born in Middlesbrough in 1946. Doherty studied history in Liverpool and Oxford and spent many years as the head of a Catholic school. Before turning to history and writing, he worked as a refuse collector, street cleaner, bus driver and waiter, among other jobs. He originally intended to become a priest but abandoned that plan after three years.
