Carola Padtberg, born in 1976 in the Rhineland, studied English literature and politics in Bonn and London and completed a traineeship at ZEIT online. From 2005 onward, she worked as an editor at SPIEGEL ONLINE and later at SPIEGEL, joining the Culture section in 2016. Together with Lena Greiner, she was responsible for surveys on quirky student answers and the series about helicopter parents. Padtberg is the mother of three children.
