Carlo Lucarelli, born in Parma in 1960, is an Italian author, journalist, screenwriter, director and television presenter. He became known primarily for his crime novels, which have been translated into many languages, received several awards and been adapted for film and television. He was a co-founder of Gruppo 13 and taught creative writing at the Scuola Holden. In 2019, he received the Premio Manzoni for his lifetime achievement. Lucarelli also wrote short stories, nonfiction and screenplays for film and television, and hosted the award-winning RAI program “Blu Notte”.
