Caleb Carr

Caleb Carr (1955–2024) was an American writer, historian, and journalist. He studied history at New York University and taught at Bard College. His debut novel, The Alienist, became an international success and was translated into more than twenty languages; in 2018, it was adapted into a Netflix series starring Daniel Brühl. As a journalist, Carr wrote on historical subjects for publications including The Washington Post, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal. He was also known for his love of cats.
