Brigitte Borchhardt-Birbaumer

Brigitte Borchhardt-Birbaumer (born 1955 in Vienna) is an Austrian art historian, journalist and exhibition curator. She studied painting and graphic arts at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, as well as art history, archaeology and Byzantine studies at the University of Vienna, where she received her doctorate in 1987. She worked as a curator on numerous exhibitions and taught at several institutions in Vienna, including the University of Vienna, the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and the Max Reinhardt Seminar. She also lectured internationally. In 2007, she received the Art Critic Award; from 2009, she served on the supervisory board of the Kunsthistorisches Museum.
