Boris Palmer

Boris Palmer, born in 1972, is a German politician. The son of orchard farmer Helmut Palmer, who was known as the “Remstal Rebel,” he grew up in Geradstetten near Stuttgart. He studied history and mathematics in Tübingen and Sydney and worked as a research assistant for the parliamentary group of Alliance 90/The Greens in the German Bundestag. He joined the Greens in 1996. From 2001 to 2007, he was a member of the Baden-Württemberg state parliament, where he served as spokesperson for environmental and transport policy and as deputy parliamentary group leader. He was subsequently elected mayor of Tübingen and confirmed in office several times. Palmer has published books including “Wir können nicht allen helfen” and “Erst die Fakten, dann die Moral.” He has two children.
