Birgit Griesecke

Birgit Griesecke studied Japanese Studies, philosophy and the history of science. Her research focused on science studies, the philosophy of language and the philosophy of Ludwig Wittgenstein. She worked at the Centre for Literary and Cultural Research in Berlin and held visiting research positions, among other places, in London and Cambridge at the Wellcome Institute, in Vienna at the IFK, and at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science in Berlin. She also taught Japanese Studies at Freie Universität Berlin, cultural studies at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, and philosophy at Technische Universität Berlin.
