Bert Alexander Petzold studied publishing and worked as a radio editor before holding senior positions at companies including Eichborn, Faber & Faber, and Deutsche Grammophon/Universal Music. As a producer, he released more than 800 audiobooks and radio plays; productions received awards including the German Audiobook Prize and the Echo Klassik. As publisher of the Leipzig-based Amor Verlag, he conceived and published editions such as “Great Opera for Young Listeners,” “Classical Fairy Tales for Young Listeners,” “The Ring Cycle for Young Listeners,” and “Great Classical Music Made Easy.” He also produced German- and English-language audio plays for Toniebox characters.
