Bernd Erhard Fischer was born in Berlin in 1948. After training as a colour lithographer, he worked for several years in printing and reproduction companies before becoming a freelance book designer and producer. From 1980 onward, he published stories, novellas and essayistic texts. Between 1993 and 1999, he taught communication design at Potsdam University of Applied Sciences. From 2002, he worked with the photographer Angelika Fischer as co-publisher of Edition A·B·Fischer. Together they produced the cultural-history series “Spurensuche” and “Zwischen den Zeiten” as well as illustrated text volumes. His works include “Comptons Vögel – Atlantische Geschichten” (2012), “Im Bauch des Drachen – Beobachtungen in Vietnam” (2015), “Unterwegs Anderswo – Aufzeichnungen” (2017) and “HERMIONE – Die Flucht ins Leben” (2019).
