Benjamin “Ben” Melzer was born in Recklinghausen in 1987. He has worked as a model, fitness coach, and transgender activist. As a model, he was the first trans man to appear on the cover of the lifestyle magazine Men’s Health. He began his gender-affirming transition at the age of 23.
