Benedicte Savoy

Bénédicte Savoy (born 1972 in Paris) is an art historian. Her academic career includes professorships in modern art history at Technische Universität Berlin and the Collège de France in Paris. Her research has focused on museum history, cultural transfer, and the history of looted and appropriated art. In 2016, she received the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize from the German Research Foundation. Together with Felwine Sarr, she prepared a report commissioned by French President Emmanuel Macron on the restitution of African cultural objects held in French museums.
