Anselm Bilgri

Anselm Bilgri, born in 1953, studied philosophy and theology in Munich, Rome and Passau. In 1975 he joined the Benedictine Abbey of St. Boniface in Munich; in 1980 he was ordained a priest by Joseph Ratzinger. From 1986 to 2004, he served as cellarer, or financial administrator, of the Abbey of St. Boniface in Munich and Andechs, and from 1994 as prior and pilgrimage director of Andechs Monastery. He left the monastery in 2004 and founded a Center for Corporate Culture in Munich. His books include “Finde das rechte Maß,” “Stundenbuch eines weltlichen Mönches,” “Herzensbildung,” and “Vom Glück der Muße.”
