Annette Oppenlander is a German-American author of historical fiction. She studied business administration at the University of Cologne and spent around 30 years in various parts of the United States. She writes in both German and English, combining historical figures and events with fictional narratives. One of her notable works is the true-story-based book “Surviving the Fatherland,” which received several awards in the United States and was a finalist for Germany’s Skoutz Award. Oppenlander has taught creative writing and conducted writing workshops and author presentations at educational institutions.
