Annet Schaap

Annet Schaap (born 1965 in Ochten) is a Dutch children’s book illustrator and author. She studied for five years in Kampen and for a further year in The Hague at art academies. As an illustrator, she contributed to more than 200 books. In 2017, she published her first book as an author, »Emilia und der Junge aus dem Meer« (original title »Lampje«). The debut received several awards, including the Woutertje Pieterse Prijs and the Nienke van Hichtum Prize. As a child, Schaap drew her own pictures to accompany the books she read.
