Anne Emmert

Anne Emmert (1965–2024) was a scholar of English and American studies and a translator from English into German. She studied English, American studies and linguistics, and translated nonfiction, journalism, young adult literature and fiction. Authors whose works she translated include Laurie Penny, Susan Faludi, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Christopher Hitchens, Garry Kasparov, Nelson Mandela and Michael Moore. In 2024, she received the Rebekka Translation Prize.
