Anna McPartlin was born in Dublin in 1972. As a teenager, she moved to County Kerry because of an illness in her immediate family and was taken in by her aunt and uncle. After studying marketing, she worked as a stand-up comedian before turning to writing professionally. She became known in particular for her novel The Last Days of Rabbit Hayes, which also drew on personal experiences.
